The Restaurant Print

Located in the very heart of the Norman bocage, the exceptional setting of this old watermill will surprise you with its quietness and greenery. The experience starts with the crossing of a bridge, then of a second one, where the small babbling of the stream will prick up your ears. Get caught by the chirping of the birds, smell the fragrance of nature, come and delight your taste bust in this house full of stories.

THE PROPRIETOR’S CAREER

It all began for Jean-Marie LENFANT in Granville, the town in which he was born, when he was just 15. He attended the Lycée Marland where he obtained his City and Guilds Certificate in Cuisine. Not one to miss an opportunity, he decided at the age of 18 to make his way in gastronomy. First of all at Ars en Ré in the Charente region (in 1987/88 and again in1990), at Stratford Upon Avon in England (in 1989), 2 winter seasons at Méribel in the Alps (1990/1991 and 1991/1992), Chef de Partie in Giens (1992), at Zermatt in Switzerland (1993), and then again in England in 1994 and 1995, a summer season on Sark (1995), at the Four Seasons Hotel in London (December 1995 until June 1996) before joining the Novelli Group (July 1996 until September 1999, spending some months in South Africa). In July 1998 (on 11 July to be exact), together with Jean-Christophe Novelli, he opened the Restaurant “Le Moulin de Jean”, which he managed until 1999. Then the Group sold its restaurants. Gaëtan DEPINCÉ now joined him and they purchased the restaurant in Cuves on 15 September 1999 (another anniversary!). So we have now been here ten years and business is constantly improving.

Over those ten years, the number of staff at Le Moulin de Jean has increased to 12:
